2017 FOOD SAFE COURSES

Please contact your district Public Health Inspector if you are interested in registering for a course or wish to arrange for a group course. Food Safe Courses are not usually conducted from May to August.

Please contact your local Public Health Inspector to pre-register for the course (as outlined below).   Payment must be made upon registration, cheque or cash only.  A cheque may be made out to "MCRRHA" or "Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority", and mailed to:

Registration must be complete 7 days or more in advance.  A minimum of 10 people, aged 16 years and older, must be registered for the course or the course will be cancelledThe course starts at 9:00am (except where indicated on schedule below), and usually takes 6-8hrs to complete.

Students must receive a 70% score to receive their certificate of completion.

Reminder:  At least one person working in the kitchen of a licensed Public Eating Establishment must have their Food Safe Certification.  At least one volunteer serving food to the public out of a temporary food booth at a community event must also have their Food Safe Certification (examples are fundraisers, sporting events, fairs, or welcome BBQ’s). The Food Safe Course should be renewed every 5 years.  We accept Food Safe Courses taken in Canada only.

If you are unable to attend on one of these dates you may purchase the online Food Safe Course by contacting your local Public Health Inspector (as outlined above).  The online course is $50, and payment (cheque or cash) must be received before the online package is sent out via mail.  Once you have completed the course contact your local Public Health Inspector to sit the exam.

*If you have a group of 10 or more people you may request a Food Safe Course from your local Public Health Inspector, and an alternate date and location can be scheduled. Please submit the Registration Form below to request a course.
